| ARC Review | Revelry by Kandi Steiner

Title: Revelry
Author: Kandi Steiner
Genre: New Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Release Date: April 20th, 2017
Publisher: Self Published
Wren Ballard is trying to find herself. She never expected to be divorced at twenty-seven, but now that the court date has passed, it’s official. The paperwork is final. Her feelings on it aren’t. Spending the summer in a small mountain town outside Seattle is exactly what she needs. The peaceful scenery is a given, the cat with the croaky meow is a surprise, but the real kicker? A broody neighbor with nice arms, a strange reputation, and absolutely no interest in her. Anderson Black is perfectly fine being lost. He doesn’t care about the town’s new resident — he’s too busy fighting his own demons. But when he’s brought face to face with Wren, he can see her still-fresh wounds from a mile away. What he doesn’t see coming is his need to know who put them there — or his desperation to mend them. Sometimes getting lost is the way to find yourself. Sometimes healing only adds a new scar. And sometimes the last place you expected to be is exactly where you find home.

Revelry is a beautifully written and emotional love story that will break your heart and mend the pieces back together again. It's about two people who are given a second chance at life, and showing you that sometimes you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, and sometimes, in the middle of nowhere, you find yourself...

After devouring and loving every single page of Kandi Steiner's last release, A Love Letter to Whiskey, it's no shock that I was anxiously anticipating Revelry. It's also no surprise that I ended up loving this one just as much as ALLTW, maybe even more. Kandi has a way with words that the moment you start her books, you instantly get sucked in and you can't put the book down at all.

"A part of me knew I was playing with fire, but I told myself I could handle the burn."

With our characters, gosh, I have never loved two characters before as much as I loved Wren and Anderson. I instantly and easily connected with Wren - most women can easily relate to her and with the struggles she faced throughout the book. She was in a tough spot in dealing with her divorce, her clothing line, all the while not knowing who she really was. But even though she was going through things, she still had a happy spirit and that was what I admired about her. Her personality shined throughout the book with her love for 90's music and cinnamon rolls (YAS girl!), and with her love for fashion.. she was a character that you couldn't help but want to be BFF's with and I so would love that!

“Life doesn’t exactly give us what we need when it’s the perfect time. It’s not a pitching machine straight over the plate. Life throws curve balls—hard and fast, unpredictable. But you still have to hit that sucker or strike out swinging.”

With our love interest and leading man, Anderson Black, gosh, my heart hurt for him in so many ways. I'm always a sucker for a broody and damaged man and I fell in love with him and their relationship entirely. Both these characters were fighting their own demons, Anderson with not being able to move on from the past and Wren recently going through a divorce and other struggles. But as these two characters connected, they slowly started to break down each others walls. The banter, the romance, the heartbreak, the love - everything about this book was so raw and beautiful and I can already feel a re-read coming on.

Revelry is a beautifully written and emotional love story that will break your heart and mend the pieces back together again. It's about two people who are given a second chance at life, and showing you that sometimes you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, and sometimes, in the middle of nowhere, you find yourself.
