As an Olympic rookie, Andie Foster has spent far more time in her cleats than between the sheets. For 21 years, her Friday nights have consisted of blocking shots rather than taking them. But now that she's landed in Rio, she's ready to see for herself if the rumors about the Olympic Village are true: • The athletes are all sex-crazed maniacs... • The committee passes out condoms like candy... • The games continue long after the medals have been handed out... As Andie walks the line between rumor and reality, she's forced into the path of Frederick Archibald, a decorated Olympic swimmer and owner of a sexy British accent--too bad he's unavailable in a way that "it's complicated" doesn't even begin to explain. In other words: off limits. It doesn't matter that he has abs that could bring peace to the Middle East and a smile that makes even the Queen blush; Andie fully intends on keeping her focus on the soccer field. But the Village is small. Suffocating. Everywhere Andie goes, Freddie happens to be there--shirtless, wet from the pool, and determined to show her a whole new meaning of the phrase "international affairs".
R.S. Grey is back at it again with a novel that is sure to make you swoon! With sports, charming characters and a shocking scandal, The Summer Games delivers!
Settling the Score tells of Andie, a soccer player who at only twenty-one, is excited to be traveling to Rio de Janeiro to compete at the Olympics for the US women's soccer team. Andie has always been devoted to her soccer career, but before the Olympics begin, she wants to have a little fun off the field. As soon as she comes into the path of Fredrick Archibald - the British gold-medalist swimmer, Andie knows she hit's gold. Immediately the attraction builds, but she finds out the sexy heart throb is off limits, yet that doesn't stop the two from heating it up off the fields, no matter how hard they try to resist it.
I don't know about you, but I rarely ever do sports. But, I sure do love reading about them, especially if the amazing R.S. Grey writes about it! She is yet again slaying in the New Adult genre and I am all for it! Grey's books are so fun and enjoyable to read because not only does she add a perfect mixture of sexiness and humor, but she also creates realistic characters that tug at your heartstrings and you can easily connect with them while flipping the pages.
Out of all of Rachel's characters, Andie most definitely had to be my favorite. She was a badass on the field and a sassy and hilarious chick off it and I couldn't help but fall in love with her! With our love interest, good god! Rachel sure knows how to create the perfect book boyfriend, that's for sure! Freddie was all sorts of sexy and delicious and I am totally happy to say that I have added a new book boyfriend to my ever growing list. When we got to see Andie and Freddie together, the chemistry was hot, hot HOT! I loved their romance and I also loved the banter between them. Needless to say, this couple is my OTP now.
We also got to see two of my favorite side characters from Rachel's previous novel, Scoring Wilder. Kinsley and Becca played a big role in Andie's life and they were practically almost sisters. Put those three in the room together and I was in a giggling fit that just couldn't stop.
SETTLING THE SCORE is a laugh-out-loud, sexy sports romance that will leave you scrambling to pick up the next book in the series. With the perfect mix of sports, sexiness and a large dose of humor, this novel is a great read for the summer. Once you pick up this book, you won't want to set it down. Let the games begin!
