A fast-paced international escapade, laced with adrenaline, glamour, and romance--perfect for fans of Ally Carter

Avery West's newfound family can shut down Prada when they want to shop in peace, and can just as easily order a bombing when they want to start a war. Part of a powerful and dangerous secret society called the Circle, they believe Avery is the key to an ancient prophecy. Some want to use her as a pawn. Some want her dead.

To unravel the mystery putting her life in danger, Avery must follow a trail of clues from the monuments of Paris to the back alleys of Istanbul with two boys who work for the Circle—beautiful, volatile Stellan and mysterious, magnetic Jack. But as the clues expose a stunning conspiracy that might plunge the world into World War 3, she discovers that both boys are hiding secrets of their own. Now she will have to choose not only between freedom and family--but between the boy who might help her save the world, and the one she's falling in love with.

Hi Maggie! I am so happy to have you stop by the blog today! Before we get the interview started, would you like to tell us a little bit about yourself?

Hi! I've just come back to Albuquerque, NM after a year of traveling around the world with my husband. When I'm home, you can usually find me DIY-ing something off Pinterest, or learning to cook new, delicious things, or watching USC football. (Fight on!)

1. What gave you the idea to write The Conspiracy of Us? Was it a long time idea or did it just come to you randomly?

I wrote CONSPIRACY because it was the book I wanted to read. I’ve always loved international thrillers, especially with a hint of conspiracy, and I’ve always loved YA romance, and I’m a huge traveler, so the idea came from combining those three things!

2. What was the most difficult part in writing it? The easiest?

The easiest part was probably the romance. That came easily—I feel like the characters always just had a connection. The hardest was probably the logistics—the clues, the history, the travel, and making sure it all matched up in the end.

3. Are there any parts in the book that you feel particularly close to? If so, what would it be?

Again, the romance and the relationships in general were the easiest things for me to write, and I feel pretty close to all the characters! They feel more like people I know than characters in my head.

4. During the cover design process (I bet that’s always the fun part!) where you able to voice what you wanted/pictured?

Most authors are not really part of the cover design process, but I was lucky that Penguin did a wonderful job coming up with great concepts for the cover, and yes, they were happy to make tweaks that I suggested. The cover turned out even better than I could have hoped!

5. Do you have any upcoming projects? If so, can you let us in on a sneak peak?

I’m working on Conspiracy of Us #2, which is called MAP OF FATES! It takes Avery, Jack, Stellan, and their friends through much more of the world and deeper into the conspiracy. It’s been really fun to write, and I can’t wait for everyone to read it!

What a fun interview! Thank you once again for stopping by Maggie and congratulations on your amazing book!

Maggie Hall is a traveling, decorating, champagne-drinking, USC-football-watching YA author. She is currently traveling the world for an indefinite amount of time with her husband, which means right at this moment, she might be on a beach in Thailand, drinking wine in Paris, or anywhere in between.

Her debut novel, a YA international thriller, is coming from Putnam/Penguin in 2015.
